Cohu Announces Retirement of Charles Schwan; James Donahue Named CEO
SAN DIEGO, CALIF., May 16, 2000 -- Cohu, Inc. (NASDAQ/COHU) announced today that Charles A. Schwan, 61, will retire as CEO effective June 30, 2000. Schwan has served in various management positions at Cohu since 1971 and has been CEO since 1996. Mr. Schwan will continue as Chairman of Cohus Board of Directors.

In a related move, James A. Donahue, 51, President & COO, will be elevated to the position of President & CEO effective June 30, 2000. Mr. Donahue joined Cohus Delta Design subsidiary in 1978 and has served as President of Delta Design since 1983 and President & COO of Cohu since October 1999.

Cohu is the largest U.S. based and one of the worlds largest suppliers of test handling equipment used by semiconductor manufacturers in final test operations. The Company also manufactures closed circuit television, metal detection and microwave equipment.
