Cohu's Delta Design Unit Establishes Philippine Operation
New Facility in Calamba City, Laguna, near Manila
POWAY, Calif., March 16, 2004 - Cohu, Inc. (NASDAQ:COHU) today announced that its Delta Design subsidiary has established a manufacturing operation in the Philippines. Located in Calamba City, Laguna, near Manila, Delta Design Philippines LLC will provide IC test handler tooling and spare parts to Delta Design customers in Southeast Asia.
James A. Donahue, Cohu President and Chief Executive Officer stated, "IC manufacturers and test subcontractors need to reconfigure their equipment quickly, as they introduce new IC packages and react to changing requirements from their customers. As approximately two-thirds of Deltas IC test handlers are installed in Southeast Asia, it makes sense to produce handler conversion kits, or tooling, close to our customers. Our Philippine operation will enable us to respond quickly to our customers and to offer products at competitive prices."
